About Willmeng

Arizona-based Willmeng Construction is a 100-percent employee-owned general contractor that has been dedicated to helping our people build their "Genuine Place of Purpose" since 1977. We prioritize our exceptional company culture, which has us ranked in the Top 5 of the Phoenix Business Journal's Best Places to Work for more than a decade and made us the only Arizona construction firm on the Inc.

Best Workplaces list for three consecutive years. We have earned multiple appearances on AZ Big Media's Most Admired Companies list, and ranked No. 1 for Healthiest Employers for two consecutive years.

Our people and our culture have also created an atmosphere that encourages going above and beyond for our clients and our community. Our team's dedication to its craft has earned us NAIOP (CREDA) Arizona General Contractor of the Year six times, while at the same time donating more than $1 million annually to community organizations.

Our strategic vision focuses on supporting prelease transactions, competitively bidding projects of all sizes, and fostering our altruistic service culture by recruiting highly talented individuals of great character who want to make a genuine impact on our communities.

The Role

As Director of QA/QC, you will lead and manage the development of a company-wide quality program that reflects industry-leading standards and prioritizes continuous improvement. This role calls for broad expertise in construction quality management — with particular strength in building science — along with active involvement in industry organizations and leadership roles. You'll be instrumental in building scalable QA/QC strategies across diverse market sectors, supporting the company's ambitious growth and commitment to excellence.

What you will accomplish

  • Establish, document, and continuously improve a company-wide quality program that reflects industry-leading standards and drives continuous improvement across all market sectors.
  • Lead and mentor a multi-disciplinary team of Quality Program Managers, Inspectors, and field staff across multiple regions, and lead quality training programs for Superintendents, Project Engineers, Project Managers, craftsmen, and trade partners.
  • Coordinate preconstruction quality planning — including mock-ups, first-in-place inspections, and constructability reviews — ensuring quality expectations are clearly defined in contract documents and addressed early in design coordination meetings.
  • Provide expert guidance on construction quality, including building envelope systems, moisture control, thermal performance, and fire/sound-rated assemblies.
  • Conduct expert-level field investigations and root cause analysis to support internal reporting and dispute resolution; drive preventive and corrective action plans across all phases, from preconstruction through warranty.
  • Develop and implement quality testing and evaluation processes, inspection protocols, and QC documentation standards, reviewing checklists, logs, and reports for accuracy and effectiveness.
  • Oversee scheduled and random QC compliance inspections and the associated reporting structure across project teams.
  • Build and maintain enterprise-wide quality KPIs and dashboards, reporting performance and non-conformance trends to executive leadership and, when required, regulatory agencies.
  • Evaluate and implement Lean Construction and other quality methodologies to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Partner with preconstruction, safety, and commissioning teams to identify and mitigate quality risks early in project life cycles.
  • Contribute to industry education and internal best practices by authoring technical content and staying active in industry organizations.
  • Support business development by contributing to project pursuit proposals and participating in client interviews as needed.
What We Would Like You To Have
  • 10+ years of experience in the construction industry, with experience and/or training in a quality management role within a general contracting or construction management environment.
  • Thorough working knowledge of construction means and methods, regulatory agency codes, and QA/QC…
