A successful GIS Technician will be responsible for data analysis to ensure accuracy and timeliness of assigned engineering projects. At a minimum, the position requires a good working knowledge of telecommunications network design; experience with ESRI ArcGIS, Google Earth, QGIS,
FME required
, and SQL scripting; ability to use office related software and equipment; familiarity with telecommunications design software; ability to read, understand, interpret, input and analyze data.

In order to perform this job, you must demonstrate, either by training or experience:
- manage processes effectively and apply expertise to ensure completion of work assignments
- participation in the implementation and maintenance of processes and procedures
- communicate with employees, contractors, vendors, and/or customers to assist assigned department/project
- read, interpret, input, and analyze data in support of an assigned department/project
- additional duties as assigned
- Bachelor's Degree in a related field or 4 years work experience
- FME required
, 3-GIS experience required - Telecommunications experience preferred
- Proficiency in the use of office hardware and software (PCs, Tablets, Printers, Copiers, Microsoft, Google, etc.)
- Advanced proficiency in assigned function (i.e. GIS Technician)
- Must be able to attend and pass all company required training as needed.
- May be required to work after hours; on weekends or be on-call as work is needed.
- Regular and timely attendance is an essential function of this position.
- Warehouse or material handling experience related to organization and inventory of materials
- Any combination of education and/or experience that demonstrates ability to perform the designated job duties and responsibilities of the position.
- Ability to make common sense understanding to carry out instructions that are provided in written, oral or drawing. Ability to deal with and understand problems involving different variables in many varied situations. Ability to collect, organize, disseminate and analyze significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts (measurements in terms of distance, proportions, percentages and area. Ability to apply concepts of basic mathematics including algebra and geometry.
- Ability to read, understand and interpret documents such as safety rules and requirements, machine manuals of operation and process procedures. Ability to write information including reports. Ability to speak effectively to customers, vendors and coworkers up through all levels of management and staff.
- Must have intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Must have general computer knowledge
