About the Team
The Field Quality Laboratory team turns customer, vehicle, and component data into objective evidence that helps Lucid improve product quality and customer experience. The team partners across Field Quality, Warranty Engineering, Product Engineering, Reliability, Manufacturing, Supplier Quality, Service, and Validation to investigate returned parts, reproduce issues, validate corrective actions, and strengthen future product launches. What makes this team unique is its hands-on connection to both laboratory-based failure analysis and vehicle-level validation across Lucid’s major systems.
The team operates at the intersection of physical evidence, engineering judgment, and cross-functional decision-making.
About the Role
As the Senior Manager, Field Quality Laboratory, you will lead Lucid’s laboratory operations responsible for returned-part analysis, component testing, failure validation, vehicle inspections, and fleet-based durability investigations. This role reports to a senior leader within the Field Quality organization and exists to strengthen the speed, rigor, and consistency of technical investigations tied to customer and field quality concerns. In your first 12 months, you will own the operating model for the Field Quality Laboratory, improve investigation turnaround time, increase root cause identification effectiveness, and build a vehicle testing program that supports faster issue resolution and corrective action validation.
Success will be measured through improved laboratory throughput, stronger evidence quality, clearer cross-functional decision-making, and measurable support for product quality improvements. This role offers the opportunity to influence vehicle quality through direct ownership of physical evidence, laboratory capability, and vehicle-level validation across advanced EV systems.
What You Own
- Laboratory Operations: Lead Field Quality laboratory operations and set investigation priorities, staffing plans, and throughput expectations that support timely, evidence-based resolution of customer and field quality concerns.
- Failure Analysis: Own the standards for returned-part analysis, component teardown, failure reproduction, and validation testing so engineering teams can make decisions based on objective evidence and repeatable methods.
- Fleet Validation: Manage Lucid’s Field Quality vehicle fleet and determine how vehicles are used for issue reproduction, durability accumulation, corrective action validation, and emerging risk identification.
- Corrective Actions: Partner with engineering, manufacturing, supplier quality, service, and warranty teams to validate design changes, process improvements, containment plans, and service procedures before broader implementation.
- Technical Escalations: Provide laboratory evidence, risk assessment, and investigation recommendations for high-priority quality issues, customer escalations, and cross-functional leadership reviews.
- Capability Growth: Identify and implement laboratory tools, test methods, documentation systems, and analytical capabilities that improve investigation speed, consistency, and technical rigor.
- Team Leadership: Build, coach, and develop a team of laboratory engineers and…
