LG Energy Solution Michigan Inc. (LGESMI) develops and manufactures large lithium‑ion polymer batteries and packs for electric vehicle (EV) and energy storage applications.
SummaryThe Crew Leader will ensure the quality of incoming material and components. Responsibilities may include creating reports using a computer, using electrical and/or analytical equipment for quality inspections, respirator fit and qualification, conducting quality checks, troubleshooting, and basic equipment maintenance in multiple quality labs.
Responsibilities- Work well with individuals and teams across the company to meet or exceed expectations.
- Ensure work is completed safely and maintain a safe working environment.
- Provide leadership, support minor personnel issues, and escalate to the SQA Supervisor.
- Organize and coordinate QA inspector work assignments, schedule, and attendance (including traveling to off‑site warehouse).
- Delegate team members and ensure they follow standard work processes.
- Guide and assist with training QA inspectors.
- Multitask in a fast‑paced environment.
- Understand all QA area processes.
- Verify correct data to ensure a quality product.
- Read and assist with creating work orders, instructions, formulas, and flow charts.
- Work independently on tasks while communicating with the team.
- Check equipment regularly to ensure normal operating activity.
- Engage in basic troubleshooting and report unresolved issues.
- Grade, classify, or sort products according to specifications.
- Check product and production processes for desired quality to specifications.
- Monitor data from measuring devices.
- Assist with calibration of equipment.
- Assist engineers with program and model changes.
- Assist with QA inspector training and bi‑annual evaluation check sheets.
- Provide backup support to QA supervisor(s) and engineers.
- Conduct thorough and timely layered process audits in appropriate work areas.
- Ensure proper inventory, consumables, and supplies are well‑stocked and notify the production coordinator to order prior to depletion.
- Maintain cleanliness at the work‑site in accordance with 5S3R standards:
Sort, Set in order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain, Right location, right quantity, right container. - Perform other duties as assigned.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Vocational certificate or Associate’s Degree preferred or equivalent, relevant experience.
- 1 to 3 years of related work experience.
- 2+ years of experience with analytical and/or electrical testing equipment.
- Experience with mentoring and leading people highly desired.

- MS Office Suite proficiency.
- Must be able to properly and regularly utilize the following PPE for a period of up to 12 hours: safety glasses, respirator (must be clean‑shaven).
- Must be able to repeatedly lift/push/pull up to 50 pounds, sit and/or stand, and use hands and fingers to perform job functions for a period of up to 12 hours.
