Research Technician I, Basic Medical Sciences (College of Medicine-Phoenix)
The laboratory of Dr. Suwon Kim at The University of Arizona College of Medicine-Phoenix is seeking a Research Technician I. The successful candidate will be well-rounded, enthusiastic, detail-oriented, conscientious, and able to follow instructions. Clear communication skills are required. Experience in a laboratory research environment is preferred but not required.

Duties & Responsibilities- Maintain sample and lab organization to ensure efficient workflow, accuracy, and compliance in experimental procedures.
- Under the supervision of the PI and senior staff, perform day-to-day experiments; assist in basic laboratory procedures, including tissue culture, Western blot, and DNA manipulation under established protocols.
- Record laboratory results, make observations and interpret results to contribute to the overall study objectives and research goals.
- Assist in drafting technical reports, experiment protocols, and quantitative result summaries.
- Coordinate the ordering and replenishment of lab supplies to ensure smooth operation of research activities.
- Maintain laboratory space and equipment to ensure proper operation, calibration, and cleanliness.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations, biosafety protocols, and institutional guidelines.
- Support data acquisition, entry, and preliminary analysis as needed.
- Work closely with postdoctoral researchers, graduate students, and principal investigators to support ongoing projects.
- Ability to communicate in a clear, concise manner orally and in writing.
- Ability to follow instructions and protocols.
- Ability to use hand‑held lab devices and calculate basic units.
- High school diploma or high school diploma equivalency.
- Prior work experience not required.
- Bachelor's degree in Biology or related field.
- Research experience.
