The He Lab in the Department of Basic Medical Science seeks candidates for a postdoctoral position. The broad goal of our research program is to understand
1) the development of insulin resistance and increased liver glucose production, that contributes to hyperglycemia in patients with obesity and type 2 diabetes;
2) the impairment of mitochondrial dynamics/activity and the importance in causing liver steatosis;
3) the molecular mechanism underlying trans-generational obesity. To address these questions, we use molecular and cellular biological technology, combining knockout and knock-in mouse models.
Ideal candidates will have a MD and/or PhD in biochemistry, physiology, and nutrition. The position is part of a well-funded research program and will provide the opportunity to produce high-impact publications and establish an independent record of grant funding.
