Researcher/Scientist III Translational Cardiovascular Research Center (TCRC) (Phoenix)
Position Highlights
Research Scientist III candidate will study oncogenic human papillomavirus (HPV) including key translational and fundamental aspects in relation to the development of HPV-associated malignancies. This will include development of assays related to assessment of bio-specimens for HPV viability and transmissibility, including additional applications for such assays. This work will also include fundamental work on the molecular genetics of HPV in relation to induction of malignancy and factors relating to conversion from latent infection in epithelial and lymphoid tissues to the development of frank malignancy.
The work will also include investigation of oncogenic HPV infection in HIV-infected hosts and the unique factors relating to development of HPV-associated malignancies in this setting. Strong molecular virology training and experience is essential for this position; background in engineering of virologic test systems and viral culture is advantageous, with a focus on cancer biology and analysis of bio-specimens.
