Research Technician IV

The Center for Advanced Molecular and Immunological Therapies (CAMI), located in Downtown Phoenix, is seeking highly motivated applicants for the position of Research Technician IV. This challenging position will work under the guidance of a Principal Scientist to develop novel therapies against cancer. Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the design, execution, and analysis of complex experiments under the supervision of the Principal Scientist.
  • Analyze, curate, and organize scientific data and records.
  • Routine maintenance, calibration, preparation, and operation of complex laboratory instruments.
  • Follow and maintain detailed protocols, instrument record documentations, and collaborate in identifying, trouble shooting, and solving problems associated with experimental protocols and instruments.
  • Perform routine laboratory procedures that include but are not limited to molecular biology, biochemical assays, and sterile tissue culture.
  • Maintain clear detailed written and digital notebooks of experimental design, setup, calculations and execution of laboratory procedures and instrument operation instructions.
  • Collect, organize, and performs basic experimental data analysis under the supervision of the Principal Scientist.
  • Assist and upkeep of with the acquisition of lab supplies, setup, upkeep, and maintenance of laboratory supplies for the research group.
  • Mouse colony management, that includes animal handling, care, record keeping, and breeding.
  • Assist with animal experimental procedures, sample processing, and data acquisition.
  • Train colleagues in the operation of equipment, instruments, and or experimental techniques.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Concise verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to be diligent and provide close attention to details in recording research data.
  • Knowledge and familiarity with biochemical and immunological concepts.
  • Knowledge and familiarity with operating and maintaining complex research instruments.
  • Knowledge and familiarity with FDA and USP guidelines.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to interact and work professionally with others.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • HS diploma or high school diploma equivalency is required.
  • Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Research experience in a relevant field of study.
  • Experience with animal handling and mouse colony maintenance.
  • Experience with molecular biology (PCR, cloning, DNA preparation) and biochemical assays (protein purification, Western blots, ELISA).
  • Experience with flow cytometry.
  • Experience with mammalian cell tissue culture and mouse handling.
  • Experience with basic lab protocols.
  • Experience in complying with laboratory safety regulations.
