We have the opportunity for an experienced Research Analyst to join the firm’s Research & Knowledge Management department. This is a collaborative role supporting the firm’s attorneys and business professionals with legal and business research. This position is on a team of Research Services professionals and reports to the Director of Research & Knowledge Management.

NoteThis is a hybrid position based in San Diego, Phoenix, or Denver. A remote arrangement may be considered for candidates who do not reside within a reasonable commuting distance of one of these offices. Regardless of location, the expected work schedule for this position is 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Pacific Time

Responsibilities:- Independently conducts legal and business research of varying complexity, analyzes and synthesizes results, and provides clear, concise summaries of findings to requestors
- Uses AI-enabled research tools and advanced search technologies, as appropriate, to improve research efficiency; develops effective prompts; and reviews and verifies AI-generated output against authoritative sources before incorporating the results into work product
- Receives and clarifies research requests from attorneys and business professionals, identifies appropriate research approaches, and communicates regarding scope, timing, and results
- Advises attorneys and business professionals on the selection and effective use of research resources
- Provides research resource training and point-of-need guidance
- Records research requests in the department’s ticket management system and billable research time in the firm’s time entry system in accordance with firm guidelines
- Contributes to Research Services communications initiatives highlighting resources, services, and capabilities
- Participates in evaluating new and updated research resources and provides feedback regarding their potential value to the firm
- Participates in collaborative Research Services and department meetings and contributes to team discussions and knowledge sharing
- Identifies and implements process improvements related to the position's responsibilities
- Maintains current knowledge of available and existing research tools applicable to the position's responsibilities, as well as developments in research concepts, techniques, and methods
- Participates in professional development through internal and external training and involvement in professional associations
- Maintains strict confidentiality of firm matters
- Models qualities and performance expected of firm employees, including attendance, professionalism, engagement, responsiveness, and high-quality work product
- Uses resources in compliance with firm policies and licensing requirements
- Bachelor’s degree and/or Master’s degree in Library and Information Science from an ALA-accredited institution
