This role is on-call so hours will vary and includes weekends and holidays if needed.

About CorazónCPLC Corazón is a client-centered center with bilingual staff where all cultures are welcome and celebrated. We have been providing Substance Abuse treatment through our CARF Accredited Level II Residential Treatment Center since 1983. The 30- to 60-day structured treatment program incorporates best practices targeted to the clients enrolled in the program. CPLC Corazón features a range of substance abuse services, including group, individual, family, and couples therapy, in addition to nightly community 12-step support groups.
Our 65-bed, ADA-compliant residential facility provides all meals, an on-site laundry facility free of charge, a basketball court, and a garden. We offer holistic health techniques including yoga, tai chi, chi gong, and sweat lodge.
As part of the kitchen team, you will oversee the daily operation of food services within the residential program, ensuring the preparation and delivery of nutritious meals that support client health, recovery, and overall well-being. You will have the opportunity to exercise independent judgment in menu planning, purchasing, inventory management, and compliance with all applicable food safety regulations, while maintaining fiscal responsibility.
You may supervise and train other kitchen support staff, coordinate food donations, and collaborate with program and administrative teams to ensure food service operations align with organizational standards, regulatory requirements, and the needs of the residential community.
- Keep it cookin, coordinating daily food service operations, planning nutritious menus, and ensuring every meal supports program needs and client health and wellbeing.
- Manage our food and kitchen resources, from cost-effective purchasing to maintaining accurate inventory and coordinating pick-ups of community food donations that help sustain our residential program, traveling for pick-ups, groceries and supplies as needed.
- Create a safe, welcoming dining experience by overseeing meal preparation and service, upholding strict sanitation and regulatory standards, and keeping all kitchen spaces running smoothly.
- Contribute to the team culture and goals, providing hands-on training and ongoing support to kitchen staff as needed, while collaborating with multidisciplinary partners and contributing to agency-wide meetings and events.

- You are no stranger to working in a commercial kitchen, staying organized, calm, and solutions-focused as you juggle meal prep, available ingredients, scheduling needs, and evolving priorities.
- You have integrity and believe in high quality service, making thoughtful decisions that contribute to the health and well-being of clients, and upholding safety and food regulations.
- You enjoy working in a team and collaborating, partnering with staff, leaders and community partners and always following through on your word.
- High school Diploma or GED
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
- Valid driver’s license and insurance
- Food Handler’s card
- AZ Fingerprint clearance card
- Experience and commitment to working with multiethnic, multicultural, low-income populations
- Experience working in a commercial style kitchen, preparing meals for large groups
This position is performed primarily in a commercial kitchen and residential dining environment and requires prolonged standing and walking, with frequent bending, reaching, lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling of food, supplies, utensils/tools, and equipment. This role may require lifting 20-30 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation. Duties include the safe operation of kitchen equipment and exposure to heat, refrigeration, and cleaning products.
