Job Summary

The ReStore Lead associate is charged with overseeing the ReStore when the manager and assistant are not present. The Lead works closely with the managers to drive sales and assist customers first and foremost. The lead also assists in processing donations, loading and unloading product, and general store tasks including stocking, pricing, cleaning, cashiering, merchandising, etc. As a brand ambassador for Habitat for Humanity, the lead is responsible for supporting a clean and safe facility, helping drive sales, ensuring an exceptional and positive customer experience and donation drop off experience.

Functions
  • Responsible for delivering an incredible positive experience each and every time someone engages with the ReStore.
  • Engaging in sales conversations providing value and offering solutions.
  • Answering and clarifying customer questions.
  • Cashing transactions.
  • Assisting customers with purchases – lifting, carrying and loading items up to 50 lbs.
  • Supports daily operation of ReStore.
  • Reviewing and aiding in the achievement of sales targets, tasks and responsibilities.
  • Assisting in evaluation of incoming donations for quality and positive donor experience.
  • Using pricing guidelines to enable other staff/volunteers to price items.
  • Effective display of merchandise in a way that maximizes sales and shoppability.
  • Assisting in receiving inventory and preparation of transfers.
  • Ensuring all areas of the store/warehouse are safe, clean, and organized.
  • Supervising any assigned volunteers for the day.
  • Participation in Social Media posting and engagement.
  • Through exceptional customer experience, reducing the prevalence of shoplifting.
  • Proper cash handling/accounting if opener or closer.
  • Receiving receipts and deposits, managing daily ReStore operations.
  • Maintaining compliance with all issued training, including training modules assigned by the affiliate.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Great track record of providing excellent customer service.
  • Good communication skills, able to convey clear, concise information to others using verbal or other appropriate communication techniques.
  • Excellent problem‑solving ability and self‑starter with great time‑management skills.
  • Creative, energetic, and passionate.
  • Experience with merchandising for unit turns and shoppability.
  • Treat others in a nondiscriminatory, lawful, and ethical manner, respecting differences among people, and the value they bring to HFHCAZ.
  • Ability to perform as a Brand Ambassador to positively represent HFHCAZ.
  • Follow all safety protocols in all work activities to limit liability and risk of injuries or accidents.
  • Minimum 2 years retail experience.
  • High School Diploma or HiSet/GED equivalent required.

Work Environment and Conditions

The work environment is a retail warehouse operation. The cooling is adequate in the summer but it will get hot and muggy at times during summer months. Winter gets a little cold; dress warm in layers. Dress code is casual and comfortable; no sandals or open shoes allowed, and company shirts will be provided.

Tools and Equipment Used
  • Proficient use or ability to learn office equipment such as computer, printer, phone, copiers, calculator and other communication vehicles.
  • Ability to learn and utilize social media platforms for volunteer, donor, customer, and store advocacy.
  • Operate forklift, hand carts, hand tools and power tools.
  • Reliable transportation for offsite responsibilities.
