Retail Sales Associate

Position Summary

We are seeking entry‑level, full‑time sales associates for our pawn store locations nationwide. A Pawnbroker / Retail Sales Associate partners with the entire staff to provide customer service on both the lending and retail sides of the business. The associate greets, engages, and interacts with customers to process sales, loans, and other transactions, supporting a wide variety of merchandise including jewelry, tools, electronics, firearms (in FFL locations), and more.

Hourly wage: $15.25 to $18.00 per hour with the potential to earn up to 8% commission on transactions, averaging an additional $2.75 per hour on top of the hourly rate.

• Greet and interact with customers, building rapport and recommending appropriate solutions
• Perform non‑management open/close procedures
• Keep the sales floor clean, stocked, and merchandise displayed appropriately
• Handle sales and loan transactions in accordance with policies and regulatory requirements
• Handle all cash and negotiable items in compliance with established procedures
• Answer incoming calls per company standards
• Communicate legal aspects of pawn and buy transactions to customers
• Collaborate with coworkers and managers, displaying respect and effective communication
• Create a positive and memorable customer experience through teamwork
• Successfully complete assigned training
• Perform additional related duties as assigned

• Willing and able to lift/carry up to 50 pounds
• Willing and able to perform tasks for extended periods, including standing, stooping, walking, climbing, pulling, and lifting
• Ability to work with firearms and obtain firearms certification
• May be asked to assist customers outside the building or retrieve products from exterior storage areas
• Minimum age: 18 years old
• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience
• Strong desire to work with people and be team‑oriented
• Ability to multi‑task in a fast‑paced environment
• Proficient in basic math calculations
• Cash handling experience preferred
• Willingness to work in multiple locations as business needs dictate
• Availability for a flexible retail schedule, including weekends and holidays
• Computer literate and able to operate POS systems and common office machines

The commission incentive plan is proprietary to First Cash. Pawnbrokers can earn 2–8% commission based on the gross profit of their personal performance. Detailed information is provided during the interview process.
