Provide exceptional customer service in a safe and clean environment to ensure the customer's return visit.

Responsibilities
  • Treat customers and employees in a fair and ethical manner, promoting an inclusive work environment.
  • Deliver the right products at the right time with fair and accurate pricing.

  • Answer questions regarding products sold within the department and throughout the store.
  • Maintain knowledge of products sold within the department and provide suggestions to customers.
  • Collaborate with associates and promote teamwork to help achieve company/store goals.
  • Prepare beverage selections to recipe and standards and to customer requests using proper equipment; tender transactions using company best practices.
  • Offer product samples to help customers discover new items or products and inform customers of coffee shop specials.
  • Provide customers with fresh products that they have ordered and the correct portion size to prevent shrinkage.
  • Recommend coffee shop items to customers to ensure they get the products they want and need.
  • Use all equipment in the coffee shop such as refrigerators, freezers, slicers, ovens, espresso machine, blender, computerized scale and steamer according to company guidelines; prepare, package, label and inventory ingredients in merchandise.
  • Check product quality to ensure freshness; review “sell by” dates and take appropriate action.
  • Label, stock and inventory department merchandise.
  • Report product ordering or shipping discrepancies to the department manager.
  • Stay current with present, future, seasonal and special advertisements.
  • Reinforce safety programs by complying with safety procedures, identifying unsafe conditions and notifying store management; adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines.
  • Practice preventive maintenance by inspecting equipment and notifying the appropriate department or store manager of items in need of repair.
  • Notify management of customer or employee accidents; report all safety risks, issues or illegal activity to store management.
  • Work cooperatively in a high‑paced and sometimes stressful environment.
  • Manage conflict in a reasonable, nonconfrontational and cooperative manner.
  • Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
  • Follow directions and seek assistance when necessary to resolve customer and business issues.
  • Provide support and assistance through direct interaction with minors, individuals with special needs, and/or older adults.
  • Perform the essential job functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodation.
Qualifications
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Previous comparable experience is desired.
  • Ability to work cooperatively in a high‑paced and sometimes stressful environment.
