Under direct supervision from the Bakery Manager, the Bakery Clerk provides customer service and conducts various tasks within the bakery. The Bakery Clerk provides friendly, courteous, and helpful service to the Bakery department, assists customers with bakery purchases, cleans shelving and display cases, cleans, fills, and rotates the self‑serve displays in the front of the store and adjacent to the store bakery, and works with customers to take special orders.

The Bakery Clerk also works with the Baker to determine which items may need to be baked or decorated. Additionally, this position helps clean the department by hosing down the floors with soap and water to ensure cleanliness. The working environment is typical for a fast‑paced grocery store; essential functions include physical requirements such as lifting, standing, walking, and kneeling as well as visual and auditory requirements.

Food Handler Card or its equivalent certification is required for all positions related to preparation, handling, and serving food.
