The Evolved Sea Sparrow Missile (ESSM) program team has an exciting opportunity for a Program Cost Controls Lead (P4) that is part of the fast‑growing Shipboard Missiles SSBU within the Naval Power Business Unit. This lead role offers a unique opportunity to support a $450M+ Japan Block 2 Licensed Production award with multiple future years of expected business. The DCS contracts will run concurrent NSPO production programs valued greater than $2B while helping establish program controls and ensuring successful start‑up execution.

The Cost Controls Lead will work closely with leadership in decision making in a high‑growth environment.

Location & Remote

Remote:
Employees may work primarily off‑site (from home) but may be expected to travel to the site location as needed. The successful candidate will be required to reside and work from one of the 50 U.S. states (excluding U.S. territories). As part of our commitment to maintaining a secure hiring process, candidates may be asked to attend select steps of the interview process in‑person at one of our office locations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage analysis of program performance and utilization of SAP (APEX/PRISM/BW).
  • Prepare quarterly Estimated Available Completion (EAC) reports and monthly forecasting, tracking variances.
  • Interface with Program Management and Cost Account Managers to support program controls.
  • Ensure financial data accuracy, relevance, and appropriateness for the respective audience.
  • Collaborate with U.S. and Japan‑based program management and the Japan customer on a continuing basis.
  • Participate in decision‑making and program start‑up execution.
  • Prepare and process Agent Commissions.
  • Train finance team members on tools and processes.
  • Provide analytical, problem‑solving and decision‑making support.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or business‑related field (minimum 8 years relevant experience).
  • Advanced degree in a related field (minimum 5 years finance/accounting work experience).
  • U.S. citizenship required.
  • Experience interfacing and conducting business with contracts, operations, engineering, and supply chain disciplines.
  • Proficiency with MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Experience with SAP Business Systems (APEX, PRISM, BW) or similar tools.
  • Understanding of AOP and long‑range planning, program forecasting and metrics.
Preferred
  • Experience working independently and with higher levels of management.
  • Experience preparing EACs.
  • Experience with MS Office and SAP Business Systems.
  • Fluent in Japanese.
