Overview
ABcom, a leader in mission critical infrastructure design and build, is seeking Account Executives focused on new business development. You will market and sell consulting, engineering design, and provision of products and labor to build cabling, security, and wireless infrastructure for new clients and assigned existing clients.
PurposeTo increase ABcom's market share and customer base, and achieve a dominant position as the go-to provider of mission critical infrastructure for data centers, manufacturing, education, distribution, healthcare, and other clients requiring 24x7 reliability across the United States. To achieve profitable sales from opportunities to new and existing clients in excess of your annual quota.
ScopeThis position reports to the Director of Sales or Vice President of Operations.
Major Responsibilities- Develop new and existing accounts within the geographic region through prospecting, networking, solution selling, and closing.
- Achieve a dominant market share position in the designated area; consistently meet or exceed revenue and gross margin quotas.
- Establish and maintain customer and vendor relationships.
- Develop business plans detailing activities to drive sales and gross margin quotas, including prospecting, account strategy, forecasting, and pipeline management.
- Create and conduct effective proposal presentations and RFP responses that address prospects' key business issues and highlight proposed solutions.
- Identify and conduct effective networking activities with solution partners, consultants, and other professionals to maximize revenue and generate new business.
- Leverage web 2.0 tools, social media, and collaborative applications to communicate and network with customers and prospects.
- Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending workshops, reviewing publications, and participating in professional societies.
- Contact existing clientele as assigned and maintain the ABcom relationship.
- Develop new clients and opportunities through effective networking and marketing.
- Lead cross-functional teams from engineering design and project management to meet client needs and achieve profitable project outcomes.
- Provide a superior level of customer satisfaction and experience within defined processes to secure ongoing, repeatable business.
- Increase ABcom client base and geographic presence, leveraging our nationwide footprint.
- Other duties as assigned by the Director of Sales and/or Vice President of Operations.
Collaborates with the engineering team on design and bid; works with engineering and project management to create accurate bills of materials and cost estimates; coordinates handoffs to Operations for closed sales; ensures effective customer communication and on-time, high-quality delivery with project managers.
Requirements (Knowledge and Skills)Minimum requirements include a proven sales history in technology sectors such as computers, software, broadband, mobility, wireless, infrastructure, telecommunications, and data centers. Must be comfortable meeting new people, understanding their needs, and pursuing success.
- Education, credentials, licenses:
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience - Specialized knowledge:
Strong business and financial acumen with analytical and numeric ability; proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); demonstrated ability to network and build a new client base - Experience:
Minimum 2 years’ experience selling voice, data, wireless, and/or infrastructure products and services; proven track record in lead generation, account development, negotiating, solution selling, and closing profitable deals - Skills:
Strong proposal writing and presentation skills; excellent prospecting and appointment-setting abilities; self-starter who can work in a team-oriented environment

- Ability to sit and use a computer for extended periods
- Ability to travel to customer sites (driving or flights as needed)
- Ability to conduct site surveys and support design engineers
- Ability to lead internal teams on behalf of the customer to meet needs
- Ability to analyze the financial value of client proposals and present margins to the internal team
