Overview
The Regional Manager West is responsible for managing Hess Collection brands within the assigned territory of Arizona, Hawaii, Washington, Oregon, Alaska, and Nevada. The role includes planning, setting programs, evaluating performance, and course correcting distributor teams using the PEECC process. Residence in the Phoenix/Scottsdale metropolitan area is preferred.
Responsibilities- Execute the annual operating plan for depletions and shipments for all channels while staying within the spend budget.
- Evaluate and course correct distributor performance through quarterly business reviews and Milestone Program execution.
- Establish relationships with distributor sales leadership, key regional accounts, and chain retail personnel.
- Lead monthly 1:1 meetings with distributor execution leadership in key markets (AZ, HI, WA).
- Train and develop distributor account executives and sales representatives to ensure a strong working knowledge of product credentials, quality accolades, pricing and merchandising standards and access to the trade portal.
- Support the Division Manager with a robust bottoms‑up Annual Operating Plan with distributors, defining depletions and points growth by channel for each distributor.
- Lead sales meetings, blitzes, surveys, winemaker visits and other sales promotional activities within the region.
- Develop and manage distributor incentives, including budget and volume projections.
- Track and manage performance through reporting tools including Karma and Power BI.
- Manage regional sales budgets, pricing structures, pricing support and invoices, and take corrective action when required.
- Candidate must be able to travel at least 80% of the time.
- Candidate must live in a major metropolitan area within the territory.
- Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) from a four‑year college or university with at least four years' experience in the industry, two of those years in wine/spirits supplier activities.
- Demonstrated experience designing, developing, and implementing market plans that achieved a sales increase.
- Current knowledge of the market, distributors and buyers in that area.
- Demonstrated success in pricing and budget management.
- Demonstrated effective people and sales skills.
- Must have a valid driver’s license or be able to travel in a timely manner.
Skills and Abilities
Ability to work with and manage distributor analysis programs and a willingness to learn Hess invoice processing and business systems.
Physical DemandsThe role requires standing, walking, sitting, talking, hearing, tasting, smelling, handling, and reaching with hands and arms. Occasionally stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling are required. The employee must be able to lift 50 pounds on an occasional basis.
Equipment UsedComputer proficiency (PC) including Internet & email, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and related tools.
CompensationExpected salary within the range of $100,000 – $110,000 annual salary, subject to candidate skills, experience, knowledge, and education.
