Inside Sales Representative (New Business Development)
Position SummaryThe Inside Sales Representative is responsible for identifying, engaging, and developing new business opportunities to drive company growth. This role focuses on proactive outbound prospecting, qualifying leads, and building a strong sales pipeline. The ideal candidate is highly motivated, results-driven, and skilled at initiating relationships with prospective clients.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct outbound prospecting through calls, emails, and social outreach to identify new business opportunities
- Research target markets, industries, and accounts to generate qualified leads
- Qualify inbound and outbound leads based on defined criteria
- Schedule meetings and hand off qualified opportunities to senior sales team
- Build and maintain a robust pipeline of prospective clients
- Track all activities and opportunities in CRM system
- Collaborate with marketing and sales teams to refine messaging and targeting strategies
- Meet or exceed weekly, monthly, and quarterly activity and pipeline goals
- Stay informed on industry trends, competitive landscape, and company offerings
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- 1–3 years of inside sales, business development, or lead generation experience (preferred)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to confidently engage prospects via phone and email
- Self-starter with a high level of initiative and persistence
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Experience with CRM platforms (e.g., Salesforce, Hub Spot) is a plus
- Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales or activity targets
- Experience in B2B sales environments
- Familiarity with sales prospecting tools (e.g., Linked In Sales Navigator, Zoom Info)
- Ability to quickly learn and articulate complex products or services
- Number of outbound calls/emails per day
- Qualified leads generated
- Meetings or demos scheduled
- Pipeline value created
- Conversion rates from lead to opportunity
