Building Automation Project Sales Representative
This role requires developing revenue from sales activities to new and existing clients by creating solutions for building automation projects in assigned markets and managing existing customer relationships.
HVAC and Building Automation Systems Knowledge- Competent understanding of HVAC and Building Automation systems and their functioning.
- Understanding of energy use, sustainability, and operational waste in systems.
- Systems‑thinking ability to see the entire system and its components to meet customer business expectations.
- Interpretation of drawings, equipment, and job conditions.
- Ability to survey/identify systems and understand prospect needs and problems.
- Ability to determine repair, modification, replacement, and/or upgrade requirements to provide solutions.
- Ability to translate knowledge, experience, and solutions into proposals that enhance the customer’s facility while reducing operating, maintenance, and repair costs.
- Use Harris CRM to maintain an up‑to‑date and accurate sales pipeline.
- Maintain an active backlog of quotes to ensure booking goals are consistently met.
- Cross‑sell and up‑sell controls, service, and mechanical project work within your region to leverage the full range of capabilities.
- Retrofit with plan and spec solutions.
- Key knowledge of retrofit building automation solutions.
- Review specifications and drawings to determine scope of work and project requirements.
- Accurately estimate sizes, distances, and quantities to determine time, costs, resources, subcontractors, and materials needed.
- Understand prospect needs, both technically and financially, and use that understanding to create customized solutions.
- Use standard operating practices to generate project pricing at company‑authorized margins.
- Develop proposals for solutions using Harris SOPs.
- Always conduct business in alignment with Harris values.
- Maintain timely and professional communication with assigned accounts, prospects, and opportunities.
- Promptly address customer concerns to resolve problems and maintain long‑term positive relationships.
- Build rapport and productive working relationships with customers, vendors, and Harris team members.
- Effectively represent the company’s interests in all activities.
- Associate’s degree in construction sciences, HVAC, or related field, or equivalent journeyman experience.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Proven track record and ability to identify retrofit building automation including modernization, upgrades, or replacements.
- Experience with customer relationship development/maintenance.
- 4+ years of knowledge of HVAC, mechanical, and electrical components.
- 2+ years of experience with customer relationship development/maintenance.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work effectively in a team.
- Ability to prepare financial justification for solutions, including understanding of energy savings.
- Knowledge of HVAC, mechanical, and electrical components.

Pay Range: $67,524.87 – $ (actual salary will vary by candidate.)
