Las Vegas, NV and surrounding territories. The Associate Director, Access & Reimbursement (ADAR) focuses on MS and proactively provides in‑person or virtual education to defined accounts on access and reimbursement topics to support product strategy.
About the Role
The ADAR serves as the patient access and reimbursement lead in B2B conversations with account executives. Responsibilities include managing the pull‑through of access and reimbursement strategy, addressing payer policy coverage, multi‑channel acquisition pathways, billing and coding education, claims processing, and integration of manufacturer support programs. The ADAR collaborates closely with other Novartis field associates and cross‑functional partners.
Key Responsibilities- Interact with large, complex accounts to support patient access and provide face‑to‑face education on programs.
- Work with key members of therapeutic area offices (executives, providers, administrators, billing and coding staff, claims departments, revenue cycle managers) to support access to products.
- Analyze problems, offer solutions, and support reimbursement inquiries with third‑party payers.
- Support pull‑through on local coverage decisions and communicate policy changes that may affect other departments.
- Maintain expertise in the regional and local access landscape and anticipate changes in healthcare.
- Interface with the Patient Support Center and Access & Reimbursement Managers on case management, issue resolution, and reimbursement support.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional associates to share insights on customer needs and barriers for access and reimbursement.
- Educate HCPs on Novartis product acquisition pathways, including buy‑and‑bill processes and alternative channels such as white bagging, clear bagging, and alternative sites of care.
- Bachelor’s Degree required (Business/biological science preferred, Advanced degree preferred).
- 5+ years in pharmaceuticals/biotech focused on Patient Services, Market Access, Sales, or account management; 2 years in a Patient Services practice support role for a specialty product.
- Experience working with complex practices or health systems to establish access and acquisition pathways.
- Strategic account management experience with a proactive approach to anticipate access hurdles.
- Deep expertise in integrating manufacturer‑sponsored patient support programs.
- Experience with specialty products acquired through Specialty Pharmacy networks.
- Knowledge of reimbursement pathways (specialty pharmacy, buy‑and‑bill, retail).
Candidate must reside within territory or within a 60‑mile commuting distance. Ability to travel 60‑80% across the geography is required; a valid driver’s license is mandatory.
Compensation SummarySalary range: $160,300—$297,700 per year. Final salary is based on skills, experience, and periodic reviews. Compensation includes performance‑based cash incentive and eligibility for annual equity awards.
