Senior Oncology Specialist

Join Amgen and help serve patients living with serious illnesses. The Senior Oncology Specialist serves as the primary customer contact, providing comprehensive clinical knowledge of Amgen’s oncology products to medical professionals and achieving territory sales through effective marketing, relationship management, and product access support.

What You Will Do

In this vital role you will be the liaison to our customers by providing clinical knowledge of our products to medical professionals.

  • Create and execute a comprehensive territory plan, including delivering branded sales messages, executing planned programs, scheduling and following‑up with medical educational programs, and achieving or exceeding sales targets.
  • Utilize your internal and external relationships to service and manage accounts, including ensuring product access, resolving reimbursement issues, and maintaining product contracts.
  • Craft an effective marketing strategy to drive sales.
  • Analyze your sales activities and territory effectiveness, and develop territory plans with your District Manager.
  • Demonstrate passion for our products throughout the sales cycle while building the brand and focusing on patient service.
  • Partner with colleagues to share best practices and foster continuous curiosity and learning.
  • Leverage your passion for oncology and disease‑state awareness, and respond to industry, regulatory, and competitive changes to deliver agreed results.
What We Expect Of You

The sales professional we seek is a go‑getter with the following qualifications.

  • Bachelor’s degree and 3 years of sales experience and/or clinical experience in healthcare or a scientific field that is not sales related.
  • OR Associate degree and 6 years of sales experience and/or clinical experience in healthcare or a scientific field that is not sales related.
  • OR High school diploma or GED and 8 years of sales experience and/or clinical experience in healthcare or a scientific field that is not sales related.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Preferred experience in oncology.
  • Three or more years of sales and/or marketing experience within pharmaceutical, biotech, healthcare, or medical device industries.
  • Product or hospital sales experience in oncology, nephrology, dermatology, rheumatology, inflammation, neurology, endocrinology, hepatology, gastroenterology, or infectious diseases.
  • Local market knowledge.
  • A Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences or Business Administration.
  • Adaptability with core competencies: planning and organizing; leveraging business, industry, and technical knowledge; communicating with impact; driving for results; and cultivating internal and external relationships.

Additional Information

The expected annual salary range for this role in the U.S. (excluding Puerto Rico) is $140,465 to $190,041. Actual salary will vary based on relevant skills, experience, and qualifications.
