Job Summary
The Key Account Manager (Hospital/Pharma) will be responsible for the sales performance, protocol development, and contracting within Key Accounts of the assigned geographic territory through successful execution of marketing strategies. The role includes developing business plans to grow business through building relationships with key decision makers and influencers, including large hospital systems, clinics, and specialty pharmacies. The manager will also conduct focused customer engagement and sales presentations to expand the GI Pharma platform, leveraging messaging strategy, call sequence, and evidence‑based value solutions.
The role will work with appropriate IDN hospital personnel regarding transition of care and discharge protocols.
- Territory: the entire state of Arizona and Nevada, with preference for candidates located in the greater Phoenix area.
- Account development and planning: identify key decision makers, influencers, and protocols, focusing on patient discharge and transition of care.
- Drive growth among hospital accounts, GI/Critical Care targets, and new accounts; meet or exceed sales and profit objectives.
- Educate targeted healthcare providers on the benefits of Vowst, a novel GI therapy, within assigned territory.
- Develop and assess hospital account protocols in infectious disease and GI environments, executing the account management and selling process in a concise, compliant, and persuasive manner.
- Communicate a deep scientific understanding of GI disorders, the assigned product, and competitive products within the GI marketplace.
- Build and maintain long‑term business relationships with key accounts and opinion leaders within the GI community.
- Implement a territory‑specific business plan and utilize available resources to foster a successful sales environment.
- Convey complex clinical and reimbursement product information to key stakeholders in a highly competitive marketplace.
- Employ a customer‑centric, needs‑based selling approach with targeted healthcare providers and accounts.
- Utilize the sales reporting system regularly for call preparation, record and track sales activity, and gather market intelligence data.
- Organize meetings and deliver content to healthcare professionals on GI and nutrition topics, aligned with tangible account objectives and metrics.
- Conduct promotional programs for professional audiences and attend local, regional, and national meetings as directed.
- Collaborate with internal and external partners to introduce and connect with hospital personnel.
- Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree in Nursing, Dietetics, MBA, or Pharm.
D. highly preferred. - 6‑7+ years of pharmaceutical sales experience, including specialty medical products into hospitals (medical device, infectious disease, rare disease, or GI).
- Fluency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
- Excellent communication (oral and written), presentation, organizational, and stakeholder‑management skills.
- Ability to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines with minimal supervision.
- Strategic account planning experience, strong business acumen, and financial and analytical skills.
- Knowledge of value‑based selling and experience with negotiating, clinical influence, and account penetration/call planning.
- Adaptability to change management and agility in evolving environments.
- Data‑driven mindset with ability to meet or exceed sales targets.
- Experience with data systems such as Power BI, Salesforce, Circana, or similar is preferred.
- Willingness to travel 50% to 70% of the time based on business needs.
The approximate pay range for this position is $155,000 to $170,000. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as geographic location.
