As a Proofreader, you will work on scholarly manuscripts across a wide range of disciplines, ensuring that documents are clear, consistent, polished, and ready for publication.

You will gain valuable exposure to the scholarly publishing ecosystem, collaborate with researchers from around the world, and work in a multicultural environment with authors from countries including Japan, China, Korea, Taiwan, Germany, Brazil, and Turkey. The manuscripts you handle may span a wide range of disciplines, including Medicine, Biosciences, Humanities, Economics, Business, Physical Sciences and Engineering.

You will play an important role in the editorial process by refining language, improving readability, enhancing author communication, and ensuring that manuscripts adhere to formatting and publication requirements. We are seeking Proofreaders with excellent language skills and strong attention to detail to work on scholarly manuscripts across a range of disciplines. The role involves reviewing academic documents for language, consistency, formatting, and presentation to ensure they meet international publication standards.

As a Proofreader, you will be responsible for correcting language and grammatical errors, improving readability, performing detailed consistency checks, and ensuring that manuscripts are professionally formatted and publication-ready. You will also support the editorial process by enhancing author-facing communication and ensuring compliance with style guide and publisher requirements.

• Proofread manuscripts for grammar, spelling, punctuation, syntax, and language consistency.
• Improve sentence structure, readability, and clarity while preserving the author's intended meaning.
• Ensure consistency in terminology, abbreviations, capitalization, numbering, and document presentation.
• Format documents in accordance with relevant style guides, publisher requirements, and journal specifications.
• Verify consistency in citations, references, tables, figures, equations, headings, and document structure.
• Enhance and refine author-facing comments to ensure clarity, professionalism, and effectiveness of communication.
• Perform detailed quality checks to identify and correct language, formatting, and presentation issues.
• Verify adherence to internal editorial standards and client-specific requirements.
• Identify and flag inconsistencies, missing elements, or potential quality concerns for further review.
• Work across manuscripts from diverse subject areas while maintaining quality, consistency, and turnaround expectations.
