Security Officer (Unarmed Security) are instrumental in maintaining a safe and secure environment for our employees, patients, physicians, students, vendors and visitors by monitoring and patrolling our facilities. Officers demonstrate exceptional customer service while providing assistance with disruptive incidents, emergency services, personal protection and traffic/parking control.

• Leadership/Staff Management
  • Keep the COO/Associate Administrator/Plant Ops Director and/or Market Security Director and Zone informed.
  • Leader apprised of any potential security concerns.
  • Maintain objectivity in decision making, utilizing facts to support decisions.
  • Develop and manage the annual department operating capital budgets.
  • Direct and supervise security personnel, monitor quality and quantity of workflow, initiate personnel actions such as hires, fires, disciplines, complete performance appraisals.
  • Respond proactively to employee needs and concerns.
  • Evaluate assigned staff performance and competency, providing direct feedback.
  • Assess learning needs, develop competency plans and provide opportunities for learning.
• Security Operations
  • Establish goals and objectives that support the overall strategic plans of Tenet Corporate Security & assigned facility.
  • Lead regular department meetings (huddles) and employee meetings for communication of policy, procedures and daily updates.
  • The Security Manager II promotes a proactive loss prevention focus and ensures effective investigations are conducted around any reported violation of security policy. 20%
  • Communicate security status, updates, and actual or potential problems, using established protocols.
  • Respond to emergencies, bomb threats, fire alarms, or intrusion alarms, etc., following established emergency response procedures.
  • Function as the primary point of contact for the installation of physical security systems within assigned facility.
  • Utilize knowledge of security-related equipment and technologies including radios, CCTV / IP cameras, imaging recording systems, personal computers, software programs, databases and access control systems to strengthen hospital operations.
  • Assist in the development of a culture of safety by supporting safety education, and safety events.
  • Plan, coordinate and assist, if needed, in security for special and high-risk events.
  • Audit line security operations to ensure consistency in the application of patrol strategies and service initiatives.
  • Prepare and maintain Security Management Plan.
  • Develop and maintain approved training programs for all members of the security staff.
  • Ensure compliance of applicable policies and regulations while implementing security measures. Acts as Incident Commander during a crisis.
  • Oversee shift-based drills to ensure security personnel readiness. Drills include, but are not limited to, de-escalation, CPI, NCI, physical techniques, use of force, active shooter, etc.
