St. John Bosco Catholic School seeks a responsible and observant Campus Security Monitor to help maintain a safe and secure environment for students, staff, and visitors. Under the supervision of the Principal, the Security Monitor is responsible for monitoring campus activity, patrolling school grounds, and assisting in the implementation of school safety protocols.

• Monitor and observe campus activity to ensure the safety and security of students, staff, and visitors.
• Patrol school and church property, including gates, parking lots, and athletic fields.
• Monitor campus security cameras.
• Ensure that all campus doors, gates, and access points remain secure during the school day.
• Monitor unauthorized individuals on campus and report suspicious activity immediately.
• Respond to emergency incidents or security concerns in accordance with the school’s Safety Operations Plan.
• Contact appropriate school personnel, emergency responders, or law enforcement when necessary.
• Complete incident reports and maintain accurate logs related to campus safety, emergencies, or behavioral concerns.
• Report irregularities, safety hazards, or trespassing to school administration.
• Maintain a cooperative relationship with local law enforcement and emergency personnel.
• Provide security monitoring support daily during school hours and school events, including some evenings and weekends as needed.
• Assist facilities and maintenance staff with safety-related needs when appropriate.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Principal.

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Current Arizona Driver’s License.
• Valid IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card.
• CPR and AED Certification (or ability to obtain upon hire).
• Completion of Safe Environment Training and agreement to abide by the Diocese Code of Conduct.
• Continued training in emergency management and campus safety procedures.
• Minimum one year of experience in security, law enforcement, military police, or related field preferred.
• Basic understanding and respect for Roman Catholic teachings and the mission of Catholic education.

• Strong communication skills with both children and adults.
• Ability to remain calm and professional during emergency or crisis situations.
• Good judgment and decision‑making skills when responding to safety concerns.
• Ability to actively listen, assess situations, and respond appropriately.
• Physical ability to patrol campus and respond quickly to incidents.
• Demonstrates self‑discipline, flexibility, and adaptability in both routine and unexpected situations.
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
• Demonstrates initiative, problem‑solving ability, and sound judgment.
• Understanding of child behavior and development appropriate for a school environment.
• Ability to properly use and maintain emergency and safety equipment.
