SUMMARY

The Campus Security Dispatcher performs dispatching and office clerical duties in support of campus security operations; receives various security‑related campus information by telephone, radio, email, and other sources; contacts and dispatches security personnel to campus areas; contacts emergency responder agencies when needed; provides information to students, staff, visitors, and outside agencies; performs a variety of office clerical duties.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Receive and dispatch information regarding campus security issues via telephone, radio, email, or other sources.
  • Monitor emergency fire security alarm systems and video surveillance cameras; monitor outgoing 911 calls and incoming Hot Line calls; contact Police and/or Fire first responders and alert appropriate campus personnel as necessary.
  • Enter security incident data into the PXU record management system; prepare reports and maintain logs as required.
  • Serve as an information resource regarding the campus security office and campus parking program; provide an exceptional customer service experience to students, parents and guardians, staff, vendors, and community members.
  • Maintain campus lost and found.
  • Perform general clerical and office work, including typing, proofreading, filing, checking and recording information.
  • Maintain accurate and comprehensive records and prepare clear and concise reports.
  • Interpret and apply pertinent PXU policies, procedures, laws, codes, and regulations.
  • Perform security duties based on campus security needs.
  • Support the relationship between the Phoenix Union High School District and the public by demonstrating courteous and professional behavior when interacting with students, parents, visitors, and school staff; maintain absolute confidentiality of work‑related issues, client records, and school information; follow Governing Board policies; perform all other related duties as required or assigned.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Education, Training, and Experience Guidelines:

High School diploma or GED equivalent; AND one year performing office clerical support that required giving/receiving information to/from the public and/or one‑year experience working with youth in a public/educational environment and/or one‑year experience in law enforcement or related activity. Be at least 21 years of age.

License and Certification Requirements:

Valid Arizona State Driver's License is required. Must possess current Red Cross first aid certificate and CPR certificate at time of employment or obtain within first 60 days and maintain current status. Must possess an active Arizona Department of Public Safety IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card or obtain one within the first 90 workdays.
