POSITION SUMMARYUnder general supervision, provides safety and protection for physical property and life at a designated facility. Tours the facilities and grounds and assists with the welfare and safety of employees, visitors and patients.
CORE FUNCTIONSThis position requires considerable physical activity which includes the ability to walk, stand, climb, stoop, and bend frequently. May be required to lift up to 75 pounds. Requires ability to tolerate exposure to conditions which may include toxic chemicals, bio-hazardous materials, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, heights, high temperatures or confined spaces. Able to use proper body mechanics to lift supplies and equipment and push carts and dollies weighing up to 500 lbs.
Needs adequate visual acuity, color vision and ability to grasp and handle objects. Must wear protective clothing as required. Needs ability to communicate effectively through reading, writing, and speaking in person or on telephone.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- One (1) year of security related experience.
- Ability to make accurate observations and exercise good independent judgment in a variety of situations (including emergencies). Basic MS Outlook and Microsoft Office Suite knowledge.
- Customer service orientation.
- Must possess a valid Arizona driver’s license and be eligible for coverage under the company auto insurance policy.
- Knowledge of CAP (College of American Pathologists) and Joint Commission requirements.
- Current IAHSS (International Association for Healthcare Security and Safety)-Basic Certification.
- Additional related education and/or experience preferred.
