Position: Assets Protection Specialist- (Phoenix, AZ)

Overview

The starting pay range for this position per hour is $22.00 - $24.00. The full pay range per hour is $22.00 - $37.40. Pay is based on several factors including labor markets and, in some cases, education, work experience, and certifications. All About Assets Protection

Assets Protection (AP) teams function to keep our guests, team and brand secure and lead through crisis events. They protect profitable sales by mitigating shortage risks, preventing theft and fraud to ensure product is available for our guest. They also build relationships inside and outside of Target, including store leaders and public safety officials, inclusive of law enforcement.

The Role

At Target, We Believe In Our Team Members Having Meaningful Experiences That Help Them Build And Develop Skills For a Career. The Role Of An Assets Protection Specialist Can Provide You With The Skills And Experience Of:

  • Using surveillance and intelligence-led tactics to keep team members and guests safe and secure while aiding in the reduction of shortage
  • Using Target's video surveillance system to monitor guests and identify potential theft risks
  • Implementing Target's Assets Protection practices and routines to reduce and prevent shortage
  • Properly and effectively documenting cases
  • Identifying strategic resolutions of external theft and fraud, and apprehension
Typical Day / Responsibilities
  • Create an Easy, Inspiring and Friendly guest experience by delivering on the following commitments:
  • Greet: 10ft – be friendly, smile, eye contact or wave; 4ft – greet the guest, smile and initiate a warm, helpful interaction
  • Help guests find what they need and resolve issues to ensure a smooth, easy shopping experience
  • End every guest transaction with a sincere thank you
  • Support total store sales, guest service and increase profitability by ensuring product is in stock and available to our guests by preventing and resolving theft
  • Resolve theft by using good judgement and conducting apprehensions in shortage focus areas while adhering to AP policies and procedures
  • Identify theft trends by leveraging technology, reporting and surveillance tactics
  • Promote a physical security and safety culture for team members and guests by creating awareness and training safe standards
  • Demonstrate inclusivity by valuing diverse voices and approaches, being authentic and respectful
  • Maintain positive work relationships with public safety officials and law enforcement
  • All other duties based on business needs

Qualifications / Requirements
  • Must be at least 18 years of age or older
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Meet any state or local licensure and/or other legal requirements related to the position
  • Welcoming and helpful attitude toward all guests and team members
  • Ability to communicate on multiple frequency devices and operate handheld scanners and other technology equipment
  • Effective communication skills
  • Work both independently and with a team
  • Manage workload and prioritize tasks independently
  • Ability to remain focused and composed in a fast-paced environment and accomplish multiple tasks within established time frames
