Overview
The Phoenix @ Union Hill is seeking a Security Guard to protect community property from fire, theft, vandalism, and illegal entry while meeting or exceeding service standards.
Shift: Monday‑Friday, 8 pm – 7 am. The candidate must consistently work this schedule.
Responsibilities- Conduct safety and security inspections of all community property including common areas, resident corridors, parking areas, and perimeter access.
- Patrol buildings and grounds as scheduled; register at watch stations to record inspection times.
- Examine doors, windows, and gates to ensure they are secure.
- Watch for and report irregularities such as fire hazards, leaking water pipes, or unsecured security doors.
- Investigate and report unlawful acts or safety hazards that endanger persons or property.
- File incident reports for all incidents and suspicious occurrences.
- Respond to security calls and complaints, handling on‑scene emergency situations until relieved by a Supervisor.
- Inspect and report dangerous conditions and any damaged or defective equipment or machinery.
- Secure and unlock areas and buildings in accordance with policy and community expectations.
- Notify appropriate agencies when emergency response and support is required.
- Assist in emergency response procedures as per community policy.
- Secure outside furniture or fixtures in the event of inclement weather.
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- One‑year related experience preferred.
- Effective communication in the primary language of the residents.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Apply common sense to instructions given in written, oral, or diagram form.
- Interact with guests, residents, and staff in a courteous and friendly manner.
- Respond promptly to resident needs.
- Support the organization’s goals and values.
- Handle multiple priorities.
- Demonstrate good judgment, decision‑making, and problem‑solving skills.
