Armed Security Officer – Osborn Medical Center, 7400 E Osborn Rd, Scottsdale, AZ 85251
Preferred Shift: Night (Weekends), Full Time, $5,000 sign‑on bonus available
The Armed Security Officer patrols designated Honor Health properties, screens visitors, and performs activities related to the safety and security of staff, patients, and visitors. Duties include emergency response, preventive patrol, access control, and enforcement of organizational policies.
Responsibilities- Patrol assigned areas to detect suspicious activity, safety or fire hazards, and ensure secure environment.
- Inspect doors and windows, log and report any unlocked or compromised entry points.
- Operate weapons detection systems and manage ingress flow while maintaining a professional and welcoming demeanor.
- Respond to alarms and dispatched calls, conducting immediate actions to secure the area.
- Escort people or property to desired destinations when security or safety is a concern.
- Enforce organizational policies related to parking, smoking, badge compliance, and other safety procedures.
- Provide first‑responder support during disturbances or emergencies (e.g., infant abduction alarms, fire alarms, panic alarms, intruder alarms, restraint calls).
- Transport quickly and safely, including stair climbing, sprinting, and moving heavy equipment as required.
- Subdue resisting or aggressive individuals and apply restraint equipment when authorized by medical authority and in accordance with policy.
- Assist law enforcement officers and security leadership with protection details, crowd control, and surveillance at large public events.
- Prepare mass casualty event support, including setting up decontamination equipment.
- Investigate and document incidents and policy violations in citations or emails.
- Maintain daily logs of activities and relay information as directed.
- Complete required training and in‑services, including non‑violent crisis intervention, self‑defense tactics, quarterly firearms training, and annual firearms qualifications.
- Represent Honor Health as a brand ambassador, greeting patients, visitors, vendors, and staff with a smile.
- Collaborate with community partners and maintain positive working relationships.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- High School Diploma or GED – Required
- Associate’s Degree or equivalent from a recognized college or trade school – Preferred
- 10 years of law‑enforcement experience with separation in “good standing,” or retired law‑enforcement experience – Required
- Driver License – Required
- LEOSA Certified – Required
- Successful completion of the HH Armed Security Officer Training Program within 90 days of hire – Required
- Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association, 60 days – Required
- Taser certification within 90 days of hire by Honor Health Public Safety/Certified Taser Instructor, 90 days – Required
- Physical ability to perform rapid stair climbing, running, sprinting, and moving of heavy equipment.
- Strong willingness to respond to urgent security calls immediately.
- Ability to work independently and maintain situational awareness during all operational hours.
