Position: Landscape Irrigation Technician. This role is responsible for troubleshooting and repairing irrigation components. The Irrigation Technician assembles, installs, and maintains commercial landscape irrigation pipes and systems. Duties include handling materials for irrigation, troubleshooting irrigation systems, and programming controllers. Prior experience (1+ years) is required. Must be able to E verify and drug test with a valid driver’s license and a good MVD record.

• Actively troubleshoots irrigation systems identifying deficiencies within the system.
• Programs irrigation controllers on all assigned job sites using repeat cycles to maximize penetration and minimize runoff.
• Creates reports detailing irrigation schedules and meter readings as well as a log of irrigation repairs for each job.
• Practices effective water management techniques such as ET-based scheduling as well as the use of a soil probe to determine the appropriate irrigation schedule for each job.
• Recognizes drainage deficiencies and problem soils.
• Understands the concept of central control systems.
• Monitors and tests new installations, troubleshoot and repair problems, observing pipe and valve placements, and evaluating start-ups, winterization, and overall operation of the irrigation system.
• Conducts and records detailed inspections and plans/executing upgrades of client systems.
• Trenches for lines per plan.
• Solders copper.
• Solvent welding (gluing) pipe.
• Properly connects irrigation wires.
• Installs sprinkler heads per plan.
• Compacts trenches properly.
• Maintains a polite, friendly, responsive demeanor with customers and coworkers.
• Must be able to work year-round in the Arizona climate.
