Jacksons Car Wash — Field Service Technician I (Equipment & Facilities)

Job Type: Full-Time

Department: Car Wash Operations / Facilities

Reports To: Facilities Manager / Lead Facility Technician

Territory: Assigned Jacksons Car Wash locations (daily travel required)

Who We Are

Jacksons Car Wash exists to deliver best-in‑class products and service—fast, simple, and friendly. We operate with the “Anna Karenina” mindset: a great wash is only great when everything is working—clean site, quality output, speed, hospitality, safety, compliance, and profitability. Miss one component, and the whole experience takes a hit.

The Role (The Gig)

The Field Service Technician I (FST I) supports Jacksons Car Wash locations by performing fundamental preventive maintenance and minor repairs on vehicle wash equipment and accessories. This is an entry‑to‑mid level technician role focused on building core troubleshooting skills (mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and chemical) while consistently executing safe work practices and clean documentation. In short: keep uptime high, downtime low, and the wash experience consistent—because customers do not care why the conveyor stopped.

What

You’ll Do
  • Perform basic service work on car wash equipment and accessories (tunnel systems, vacuums, pay stations, pumps, chemical delivery, air/water components).
  • Conduct fundamental troubleshooting of electrical, electronic, and mechanical issues to identify corrective action.
  • Assist with replacing, repairing, and adjusting parts and systems as needed.
  • Inspect, calibrate, and verify chemical performance under supervision (concentration checks, draw rates, basic titration/verification where applicable).
  • Run equipment through wash “cycles” to validate proper function and confirm repairs.
  • Inspect equipment and site conditions to ensure safe, reliable operation and consistent output quality.
  • Communicate findings to site leadership: what’s broken, what’s at risk, what’s needed, and what can wait (triage is a superpower).
  • Provide basic guidance to store teams on proper operation and daily/weekly care (simple habits prevent expensive problems).
  • Maintain positive working relationships with site teams—service is part technical, part customer experience.
  • Deliver parts/supplies to sites when needed and help maintain accurate parts inventory on the service vehicle.
  • Complete work orders, notes, expense reports, and time logs accurately and on time (because “I fixed it” is not a maintenance strategy).
  • Stay current on equipment updates through training, manuals, and service bulletins.
  • Follow Jacksons safety policies and comply with OSHA, EPA, and applicable local regulations.
  • Other duties as assigned to support operational uptime and site readiness.
Qualifications (Required)
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Demonstrated interest/aptitude in mechanical, plumbing, and electrical work (school, prior work, hobby, or hands‑on experience).
  • Familiarity using meters and working around AC/DC power systems (baseline competency expected).
  • Basic math, reading, and writing skills (you can document what you did, not just remember it).
  • Basic computer skills (email, work order systems, mobile apps).
  • Strong communication and organization skills; able to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Customer‑service mindset and the ability to work effectively with different personalities and leadership styles.
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
    :
  • No more than three (3) moving violations in the past 5 years
  • No more than two (2) preventable at‑fault accidents in the past 5 years
  • No impaired driving convictions in the past 5 years and no pending charges
  • Ability to travel daily within assigned geography.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior experience in car wash equipment, industrial maintenance, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, or related field service roles.
  • Experience with chemical systems, pumps, solenoids, air compressors, conveyors, or motor controls.
  • CMMS / work order platform experience (or the willingness to learn…
