Grade 13 – Starting hourly rate: $27.03 - $28.27 (placement depends on similar experience and education)
Responsibilities- Maintain, install, and repair plumbing fixtures and equipment including valves, control devices, water mains, sprinklers, pumps, toilets, faucets, sewer, water, gas, and airlines.
- Clear stoppages in main lines, toilets, floor drains, urinals, and sinks; repair breaks and leaks; dispose of all waste properly.
- Repair digital motion and manual faucets, hand wash stations, and mop sinks and replace as necessary.
- Repair water-using appliances, recirculating pumps, and sewage injector pumps.
- Install new water-using appliances (e.g., dishwashers, water heaters, drinking fountains); repair and replace garbage disposals.
- Replace water lines and rusted/corroded galvanized pipe lines.
- Repair steam, cast iron, and gas lines.
- Maintain supply inventory, requisition supplies, maintain paperwork and process work orders.
- Estimate cost of materials and labor for jobs.
- Maintain assigned equipment, tools, facilities, and vehicles.
- Make emergency service calls; assist other departments with tasks and projects as needed.
- Demonstrate courteous and professional behavior when interacting with students, parents, visitors, and staff; maintain confidentiality of work‐related issues, client records, and school information; follow Governing Board policies.
Required Qualifications
High School diploma or GED equivalent; two‑year technical certificate in plumbing or related field; four years of plumbing experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Valid Arizona State Driver’s License.
Licensed Journeyman Plumber at time of hire or 10 years of plumbing experience.
Active Arizona Department of Public Safety IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card or obtain one within first 90 workdays.
Ideal Candidates Will Have- Skill in installing, maintaining, and repairing plumbing and fixtures.
- Knowledge of plumbing systems, materials and equipment; ability to analyze water system errors and troubleshoot.
- Ability to plan, prioritize, and complete assignments with minimum supervision.
- Ability to comply with safety policies, procedures, and practices.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions and procedures.
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to provide excellent customer experiences, interacting tactfully and courteously with the public.

Work is performed on campuses and district facilities, both indoors and outdoors. Requires exposure to hot and cold temperatures, potentially dangerous tools and equipment, and hazardous chemicals. Physical ability to stand, turn, stoop, crouch, crawl, reach, lift, push, pull, and climb ladders. May be required to lift objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
