Compensation Hourly base pay rate is $35.58 - $53.37/hour. The hourly base rate may vary within the anticipated range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate’s knowledge, skills, and abilities. Position may be eligible for additional compensation that may include commission (annual, monthly, etc.) and/or an incentive program.

Responsibilities- Perform scheduled preventative maintenance (PM), DOT Inspections and follow-up repairs on light, medium, and heavy-duty vehicles in a mobile/field environment.
- Perform minor adjustments and repairs on various truck equipment including Electrical/Brake/Cooling Systems, Starters/Alternators, Fan clutches, Engine electronics, Diesel steering systems, Engines (gas and diesel), Transmissions (manual and automatic), Clutches, Differentials, etc.
- Diagnose, adjust, and repair various truck equipment including the items above and additional systems such as Air conditioning and Diesel electronics.
- Inspect, test, and listen to defective equipment to diagnose malfunctions using test instruments (handheld computers, pressure gauges).
- Road test vehicles to diagnose malfunctions and verify proper operation.
- Identify problems, assess information relevance, and generate/evaluate alternatives with sound judgment.
- Independently manage parts inventory and maintenance equipment on a company-issued service truck with periodic reconciliation.
- Maintain and operate the company-issued service vehicle, conduct safety checks, and pre-/post-trip inspections.
- Work with clients to assess needs, provide information or assistance, resolve problems, and satisfy expectations.
- Manage concurrent tasks, prioritize work activities and allocate time effectively.
- Use hand tools, precision instruments, Diesel tools, welding equipment, lifts and jacks.
- Document work according to company standards and upload photos of work performed, parts used, and findings on Repair Orders using the TRAIT application on an iOS device.
- Accurately complete DOT forms and other documentation in a timely fashion.
- Work independently and manage daily schedule; maintain productivity within standard repair times.
- Obtain parts from approved local and national vendors as needed for repairs.
- Communicate with management and support team to obtain approvals on repair estimates, retrieve PO numbers, and discuss RO findings.
- Perform all work in compliance with safety, health, and environmental policies and federal regulations (OSHA, EPA, DOT).
- Support inventory reconciliation and mentor technicians on best practices to stay near standard repair times.
- Assist Mobile Tech Manager with Quality Control inspections on work performed by Mobile Diesel Technicians I/II/Sr.
- High School Diploma/GED and 7 years’ experience. An equivalent combination of degree/certification and experience may be considered (e.g., some higher-level degree with 5 years’ experience; or 9 years’ related experience).
- Own a set of hand tools necessary to perform required duties.
- Obtain Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certification T8 (PMI) within 18 months.
- Obtain ASE certification C1 (Service Consultant) within 18 months.
- Obtain 608/609 certification within 18 months.
- Regulatory compliance: ability to complete and pass a DOT-regulated pre-employment background screening and DOT physical prior to employment.
- Current and valid DOT medical card with more than four months remaining before expiration may be submitted in lieu of a DOT physical; if four months or less remain, a DOT physical is required.
- Must be at least 21 years old due to interstate operating authority.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to obtain and maintain a Driver Qualification File.
