Reports to:

Service Manager

The Chiller Technician is our highest level of Service Technician. Capable of diagnosing and repairing all levels of HVAC equipment, including very large and sophisticated chiller plants. Requires at least two certifications in the repair of chiller plants such as McQuay or Daiken and ability to perform complete teardowns and rebuilds.

• Identify, diagnose, and repair systems and products at customer locations via dispatcher:
  • Unitary products (from 1‑ton mini splits to 50‑ton package units)
  • Boilers:
    Perform combustion analysis, troubleshoot water and air flow issues, repair and verify correct operation.
  • Chillers:
    Diagnose compressor, motor and starter issues, tear down and rebuild compressors, oil pumps and starters, perform leak searches, troubleshoot water flow and control issues (experience with Turbor Core and Centrifugal compressors a plus).
  • Control Valves:
    Troubleshoot signal and control issues.
  • Heat Exchangers:
    Troubleshoot water flow issues, determine deficiencies, tear down, clean and reassemble with new gaskets.
• Perform thorough troubleshooting of VFDs and control issues for both unitary products and larger equipment.
• Provide initial and follow‑up training at customer sites.
• Expand business by discussing other services available.
• Provide all information from each service call to the dispatcher before leaving the job site and accurately complete paperwork and maintain files.
• Read blueprints and wiring diagrams.

• Over 5 years field experience plus specialized training.
• Computer skills: working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook.
• Valid driver’s license; pre‑hire drug screen required and ability to obtain an Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card.
