Job SummaryResponsible for reading blueprints and specification to determine the scope of work: location, quantities, and sizes of materials required. Identify all tools required for tasks and identify safety risks and the precautions required to eliminate those risks.
Job Duties and Responsibilities- The Technician I - Infrastructure measures, cuts, bends, threads, assembles and installs electrical conduit using such tools as rules and conduit benders, Chicago Benders, Dual trigger bandsaws.
- The Technician I - Infrastructure will build closets (Mount and install backboards).
- Install grounding for racks, equipment and cable as required.
- The Technician I - Infrastructure observes functioning of installed equipment or system to determine hazards and need for adjustments, relocation, or replacement.
- The Technician I - Infrastructure ability to fabricate and install rigid & aluminum, E.M.T., plasti-bond, and P.V.C. conduit.
- Ability to use mechanical benders; use hydraulic benders 1 1/2" - 4"; fabricate and install conduit supports.
- Install various types of raceway and cable tray systems.
- Will assume responsibility for effective performance of crew and provide necessary training, coordinate personnel and timeline to complete project.
- Will fully complete all IES paperwork accurately and on time (timesheets, material transfers, work orders, change orders, tool transfers and others as required).
- Will adhere to and participate in all Company, customer and industry quality and safety standards and regulations.
- Will complete other responsibilities as assigned.
Min USD $18.00/Hr. Max USD $22.00/Hr.
QualificationsPhysical and Mental Requirements:
- The Technician I - Infrastructure must be self-motivated, positive in approach, professional and help create, develop and implement project process improvement(s).
- The Technician I - Infrastructure must be accustomed to climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, feeling, repetitive motions.
- The Technician I - Infrastructure must promote the Company culture and mission to all employees, vendors, clients and business partners.
- The Technician I - Infrastructure must be able to act as the Company liaison for interface with customer representative(s).
- The Technician I - Infrastructure must possess proven problem-solving skills, critical thinking skills and the ability to effectively read, write and give oral presentation(s).
- The Technician I - Infrastructure must be able to work at heights, off a ladder and in confined spaces, lift up to 50 pounds and move up to 75 pounds.
- The Technician I - Infrastructure must be able to travel within the branch territory and/or regional territory as needed. Regular attendance is mandatory.
- Tools:
Screwdriver (regular and Phillips), drywall saw, torpedo level, tape measure, snips (with belt sheath), pliers (needle nose and channel locks), hammer, wrench set, cable stripper, flashlight and gloves.
Education, Certification, License, and Skill Requirements:
Must possess at least a High School diploma or GED equivalency. Must possess a minimum of 0 to 2 years of experience in as an electrician, or related technical field and demonstrate the ability to supervise others. Must possess and be proficient with the listed tools. Must have proven skill level to interpret blueprints and other project documents, including but not limited to, specifications, reporting and quality requirements.
Must know the universal communications color codes. Must meet Company minimum driving standards.
