We are currently hiring a Lead Mobile Diesel Technician
. The Lead Mobile Diesel Technician will be responsible for performing licensed DOT inspections, preventive maintenance inspections, light and advanced repairs, advanced mechanical/hydraulic/electrical and electronic diagnostics, and other duties as assigned. This role requires mastery in multiple technical disciplines, leadership on jobsites, and strong customer interaction. The Lead will mentor and teach other Technicians in the field and may perform duties of Mobile Technician Manager in their absence.

• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance (PM), DOT inspections, and follow-up repairs on light, medium, and heavy-duty vehicles in a mobile/field environment.
• Perform minor adjustments and repairs on various truck equipment including Electrical/Brake/Cooling Systems, Starters/Alternators, Fan clutches, Engine electronics, Diesel steering systems, Engines (gas and diesel), Transmissions (manual and automatic), Clutches, Differentials, etc.
• Diagnose, adjust, and repair vehicle systems as above, including electrical, air conditioning, fuel, and engine components.
• Inspect, test, and listen to defective equipment to diagnose malfunctions using test instruments such as handheld computers and pressure gauges.
• Road test vehicles to diagnose malfunctions and verify proper operation.
• Identify problems, evaluate information, and generate/assess alternatives with sound judgment.
• Independently manage parts inventory and equipment on the company-issued service truck; perform periodic reconciliation.
• Maintain and operate the company-issued service vehicle; conduct safety checks and pre-/post-trip inspections.
• Interact with clients to assess needs, provide information or assistance, resolve problems, and satisfy expectations.
• Manage concurrent tasks with effective prioritization of work and time allocations.
• Use hand tools, precision instruments, Diesel tools, welding equipment, lifts, and jacks.
• Document work according to company standards and upload RO details, parts used, and findings using an iOS device and TRAIT application.
• Complete DOT forms and other documentation in a timely fashion.
• Work independently with a productive daily schedule and achieve outcomes within standard repair times.
• Obtain parts from approved local and national vendors as needed.
• Communicate with management to obtain approvals on repair estimates and discuss RO findings.
• Perform work in compliance with safety, health, and environmental policies and federal regulations (OSHA, EPA, and DOT).
• Support Mobile Diesel Technicians I/II/Sr in inventory reconciliation and mentor on best practices to meet standard repair times.
• Assist Mobile Tech Manager (MTM) with Quality Control inspections on work performed by Mobile Diesel Technicians I/II/Sr.

• High School Diploma/GED and 7 years of experience, or related combination including higher-level degree/certification with 5 years of experience, or 9 years in a related field.
• Possess and supply a set of hand tools necessary to perform required duties.
• Obtain ASE T8 (PMI) within 18 months.
• Obtain ASE C1 (Service Consultant) within 18 months.
• Obtain ASE 608/609 certification within 18 months.
• Comply with DOT/FMCSA regulations and successfully complete pre-employment DOT screening and DOT physical as required.
• Current and valid DOT medical card or DOT physical completion as applicable based on validity.
• Be at least 21 years old due to interstate operating authority requirements.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to maintain a Driver Qualification File.
