LIFT Corporation, the preeminent name in equipment handling for the global data center industry for over twenty years, is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Field Service Manager to lead and grow our field service organization. This role is ideal for a hands-on service professional with strong mechanical and electrical experience who is ready to step into a leadership position.
The Field Service Manager works closely with internal technical support, engineering, customers, and external service contractors to ensure equipment is maintained and repaired efficiently, safely, and to a high standard of customer service.
You will recruit, train, and lead an internal service team while expanding and managing a network of qualified service contractors and customer maintenance teams. In addition to leadership responsibilities, this role provides hands-on technical support and field troubleshooting as needed.
Key Responsibilities- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and service equipment and material-handling systems
- Lead, recruit, train, and manage internal service technicians and external service contractors
- Develop and maintain technical training materials, including manuals and instructional videos
- Manage and improve our preventive maintenance programs for the installed equipment base
- Support field repairs, warranty work, and escalated service issues
- Collaborate with engineering, technical support, and documentation teams to improve serviceability and reliability
- Promote and enforce safety best practices and compliance across all service activities
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver’s license with willingness to travel locally (Phoenix metro) and occasionally regionally/nationally
- Strong foundation in mechanical and electrical systems
- 3–5 years of hands-on service or maintenance experience with industrial equipment, material-handling equipment, forklifts, or similar heavy-duty mechanical/electrical systems
- Ability to read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals
- Proven experience training technicians, contractors, or maintenance personnel
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to interact professionally with customers and internal teams
- Ability to do physical work, including lifting and moving up to ~50-70 lbs., standing, kneeling, stooping, working in varied environments (warehouse floors, service bays, etc.)
- Demonstrated commitment to safety and adherence to safety protocols
- Experience with preventive maintenance programs, service contracts, and field warranty work
- Experience servicing forklifts or powered industrial trucks and/or similar lift equipment (preferably electric)
- Experience recruiting, training, or managing a contractor or service technician network
- Technical school certificate or associate degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Electromechanical Technology
- Familiarity with hydraulic and pneumatic systems, sensors, PLC controls, and mobile diagnostics
- Experience working in manufacturing, warehouse, or distribution environment
