The Fire Sprinkler Fitter II installs, repairs, inspects, and maintains fire sprinkler and suppression systems in accordance with NFPA codes and safety standards. This role interprets drawings, performs piping and system modifications, troubleshoots mechanical issues, and supports service and inspection activities while ensuring high‑quality workmanship and customer communication.
Responsibilities- Install, modify, and repair fire sprinkler system
- Read and interpret fire sprinkler drawings
- Cut, groove, and thread fire sprinkler piping
- Ensure all work complies with applicable NFPA codes
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment
- Communicate clearly and professionally with clients
- Perform service and inspections based on NFPA 10, 12, 13, 17, 17A, 25 and 2001.
- Perform basic troubleshooting and describe them to owners and service managers for repairs.
- Monitor and assure progress and completion of all assigned tasks.
- Complete timesheets, service work orders, and other paperwork required for this position in an accurate and timely manner.
- Provide service support on existing installations ensuring systems continue to meet existing building codes.
- Assist Sales team during estimating phase including potential product or system demonstrations.
- May perform inspections from man lifts at elevations of 30 to 40 feet from ground level, as necessary.
- On‑call rotation

- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience in fire sprinkler installation or repair.
- Knowledge of NFPA 10, 12, 13, 17, 17A, 25 and 2001, as well as a general understanding of NFPA and other relevant fire and life safety codes.
- Proficiency in basic mechanical skills, including troubleshooting mechanical and electrical issues.
- Working knowledge of computer operating systems, including proficiency in the MS Office Suite.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate clearly and concisely.
- Willingness and ability to obtain all required certifications.
- Certifications such as NICET, CSA, and Backflow (inspection and repair).
- Working knowledge of the operational characteristics of fire extinguishers, kitchen hoods, and emergency/exit lights.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
- Experience with both wet and dry systems, standpipes, fire pumps, etc.
- OSHA 10 or 30 certification.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, climb, walk, sit, push, pull, squat, crawl, and stoop. The employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, feel objects, and type on keyboard; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
