Engagement Type: 6-month Contract to hire

Pay Rate: 30-35/hr

Must-Haves:
  • 3+ years of experience in AV/IT installation or a related field.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and experience working with AV systems, structured cabling, and low‑voltage installation methods.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
  • Experience leading or mentoring installation teams.
  • Proficiency with hand/power tools and installation equipment.
  • Willingness to work 2nd shift or night shift as primary schedule.
Nice-To-Haves:
  • CTS Certification
  • Industry certifications (OSHA, AVIXA, manufacturer trainings).
  • Experience with DSPs, control systems, and networked AV environments.
  • Advanced fabrication or metal‑working capability.
Day to day:

A client of Insight Global is looking to hire a lead technician in the Phoenix, AZ area.

This technician will be responsible for leading onsite installation crews, executing complex installation tasks, and ensuring all project work meets standards related to quality, safety, budget, scope, and timeline.

The Installation Technician III will perform hands‑on work including (but not limited to): cable pulls, cable terminations, equipment installation, rack fabrication, wiring layout, metal fabrication, and full system build‑outs. This role requires the ability to read and interpret schematics, lead teams, communicate with project managers, and ensure all documentation and testing requirements are met.

This position will work primarily 2nd shift or night shift, with occasional daytime availability depending on project needs.

Responsibilities include:
  • Lead and direct installation crews on assigned AV/IT projects.
  • Execute installation tasks: cable pulls, terminations, equipment mounting, rack fabrication, and wiring.
  • Interpret and implement engineered drawings, plans, and system specifications.
  • Perform system testing, troubleshooting, and quality inspections.
  • Document all installation activities accurately and on time.
  • Maintain safe working conditions and ensure all team members follow safety protocols.
  • Communicate progress, issues, and updates to the Project Manager.
