Pay: $20-$25 per hour plus an additional $2,000 through performance bonuses in the summer.

Job Description

The Outdoor Power Equipment Service Technician utilizes deep technical skills with outdoor power equipment to help customers maintain machines critical to completing landscape jobs. The role includes trusted assembly and repair of lawn mowers and other landscape equipment, demonstrates exceptional service and proactive communication, and radiates a positive attitude.

Responsibilities
  • Identify problems with fractional horsepower gasoline engines used to power lawn mowers, garden tractors and similar machines, and resolve them in a timely manner.
  • Locate causes of trouble, dismantle parts, examine for defects; then clean, adjust, replace or repair as needed and authorized by the customer.
  • Communicate daily with the Parts Customer Service Representative and/or Sales Center Manager regarding diagnosis, recommended courses of action, and repair status.
  • Treat company-issued tools and customer equipment with utmost care.
  • Observe safety and security procedures according to OSHA.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Successful completion of mechanic technical/trade school, or one year of mechanic experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Set‑up new equipment and deliver to the customer.
  • Ability to tow a utility trailer for equipment service and sales orders.
  • Willingness and ability to acquire OPE industry certifications and maintain manufacturers' annual updates.
  • Own a set of basic tools for general repair of engines and/or power equipment.
  • Maintain composure in a fast‑paced environment focused on serving business owners with urgent needs.
  • Investigative nature; troubleshoot with persistence and think critically to identify solutions to problems.
  • Cooperative, dependable team player.
  • Keen awareness of how behind‑the‑scenes actions can impact customer service.
  • Aptitude to learn ever‑evolving computer systems, programs, handheld technology and processes.
  • Perform basic arithmetic: add, subtract, multiply, divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to multitask between repairs and commit to overtime when necessary to meet deadlines.
  • Physical dexterity, coordination and steadiness.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older to apply.
Preferred Qualifications
  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus.
  • Experience across small engines (two‑cycle, four‑cycle, light diesel), as well as electrical and hydraulic units.
  • Equipment and Engine Training Certifications (EETC).
  • Bilingual, Military, Military Spouses and Veteran applicants are strongly encouraged to apply.
