Position PurposeSeeking an experienced Asphalt Screed Operator skilled in operating screed machines and associated heavy equipment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Operate roller and other heavy equipment for paving projects.
- Inspect, clean, and maintain equipment and machinery.
- Coordinate with contractors, subcontractors, and vendors to complete jobs.
- Provide excellent customer service as a front‑line representative.
- Work on the ground as needed and maintain a safe, orderly job site.
- Work quickly and productively to meet production goals set by foreman, superintendent, or production manager.
- Follow directions regarding daily production schedule and activities.
- Advocate safety and adhere to all safety policies and procedures.
- Participate in job‑site and safety meetings and required training.
- Ensure traffic control and safety before work commences.
- Communicate constantly with equipment operators, truck drivers, and general laborers.
- Report equipment problems or malfunctions to supervisor or shop personnel.
- Set up and tear down equipment as necessary.
- Maintain a clean job site, picking up tools and securing the site each day.
- Use hand tools such as rakes, shovels, wheel barrels, etc., as needed.
- Perform general labor tasks as assigned.
- Perform any other duties assigned.
- This position is safety‑sensitive and subject to the company’s drug and alcohol policy and OSHA regulations.
- All employees must wear appropriate personal protective equipment and follow all safety guidelines at all times.

- Operate vehicles and trailers safely, complying with all traffic laws.
- Operate equipment, machinery, and tools per safety guidelines and manufacturer specifications.
- Work outdoors for long periods, in all weather, including extreme heat and cold.
- Wear appropriate personal protective equipment in various situations.
- Lift up to 50 pounds and perform tasks requiring climbing, bending, stooping, kneeling, and overhead lifting.
- Possible exposure to chemicals, vapors, pollutants, uneven surfaces, loud noise, moving vehicles, and dust/debris.
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- 6 months to 1 year related experience preferred.
- Ability to speak, read, and write English.
- Willingness to travel to any job site without exception, including staying away from home if necessary.
- Current driver’s license preferred.
