This mid‑level role is ideal for experienced plumbers ready for greater technical responsibility while working under the supervision of a Plumber III or higher. You'll take on more independent hands‑on tasks in commercial plumbing systems (water supply, drainage, waste, gas piping, fixtures, and related equipment).
Key responsibilities include:
- Repairing, replacing, and maintaining piping systems, fixtures, valves, drains, and equipment in commercial settings.
- Assisting with (and increasingly leading portions of) the layout, assembly, installation, testing, and troubleshooting of plumbing systems.
- Reading and interpreting basic blueprints, specifications, and work orders to ensure accurate work.
- Performing pressure testing, leak detection, drain cleaning/unclogging, and basic system checks/maintenance.
- Supporting site clean‑up, material handling, tool organization, and documentation (paperwork, as‑builts, progress notes).
- Actively expanding your knowledge of plumbing codes, materials (copper, PVC, etc.), commercial applications, and best practices to prepare for higher‑level independence.
- Minimum 3+ years of relevant plumbing or construction experience (commercial/industrial preferred; apprenticeship time counts).
- Solid understanding of commercial plumbing systems, including water/drainage/gas lines, fixtures, and basic codes/regulations.
- Strong commitment to safety, quality workmanship, and following procedures.
- Reliability, high energy, self‑motivation, and excellent teamwork/communication skills.
- Mechanical aptitude, problem‑solving ability, and eagerness to learn advanced techniques under supervision.
- Physical capability for demanding work: lift up to 50 lbs, frequent bending/lifting, standing/walking on uneven terrain or in confined spaces, and safely climbing ladders/scaffolding.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., backflow prevention, OSHA) or progress toward journeyman licensing a plus—we value proven skills and growth mindset.
This is a safety‑sensitive position.
If you're a dedicated tradesperson who enjoys tackling real‑world challenges, contributing to essential commercial systems, and advancing your career with a supportive team, we'd love to have you! Apply today and step up with Modigent.
