Responsibilities
  • Perform highly skilled construction tasks such as loading, delivering, excavating, and operating advanced equipment for underground projects.
  • Install and maintain complex underground telecommunications cable with precision and adherence to project specifications.
  • Operate, troubleshoot, and perform minor maintenance on construction equipment to ensure optimal functionality.
  • Assist supervisors with project plans, material management, and task prioritization.
  • Provide support to small work groups to meet project goals on time and follow safety standards.
  • Complete and verify detailed production reports to maintain accurate project records.
  • Assist with site restoration efforts, including final grading and landscaping, to meet client expectations.
  • Identify and address potential safety and operational issues proactively.
  • Train and mentor Level I and II laborers to improve their skills and knowledge.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Minimum age 18 years.
  • Authorization to work in the United States.
  • High School Diploma, GED, or relevant work experience.
  • 3-5 years of experience in underground telecommunications construction or a related field.
  • Advanced knowledge of construction equipment operation and maintenance.
  • Ability to interpret blueprints, job plans, and technical specifications.
  • Strong ability to work independently and provide support in team environments.
  • Willingness to work overtime, weekends, and extended hours as needed.
  • Ability to work safely in all weather conditions.
  • Effective leadership, communication, and problem‑solving skills.
Physical Abilities & Exposures
  • Work alone in remote locations and confined spaces with arms above shoulder level; operate vehicle and heavy machinery; squeeze, fine hand motion, bend, stoop, stand, walk, climb stairs and lift greater than 55 pounds.
  • Occasional use of ladder, keyboard, mouse.
