Job Title: Apprentice IV - Electrical

JOB SUMMARYThe Electrical Apprentice IV performs advanced electrical installation, layout, and troubleshooting tasks under minimal supervision. This fourth‑year apprentice has developed strong technical proficiency and code knowledge, demonstrating the ability to complete work safely, efficiently, and to Kearney Electric's quality standards.
The Apprentice IV will coordinate daily work and will support the Journeyman and Foreman with planning, mentoring lower-level apprentices, and preparing for a field lead position while maintaining adherence to Kearney Electric's Pathways to Excellence mission and core values of Trust, Team, Grit, and Growth.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS- Demonstrate strong knowledge of electrical theory in the installation of conduit, wiring, lighting, devices, and electrical equipment under little supervision.
- Perform advanced electrical installations including conduit layout, feeders, switch gear, and device terminations.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
- Proficiency in the proper use and care of hand and power tools used in electrical work.
- Identify and resolve field issues, making recommendations to Foreman or Journeyman.
- Support the setup and takedown of work areas, ensuring all tools and materials are properly secured.
- Observe and practice safe work habits consistent with OSHA and company safety standards.
- Advanced knowledge of electrical materials, wire types, fittings, and installation components.
- Capable of performing underground and rough‑in installations under some supervision.
- Follow direction promptly and complete assigned tasks efficiently and accurately.
- Demonstrate reliability, punctuality, and a willingness to learn every aspect of the trade.
- Participate in weekly safety meetings, training sessions, and company development opportunities.
- Expected to complete classroom and on‑the‑job training requirements in alignment with Kearney Electric's apprenticeship standards.
- Actively participates in personal and professional development to advance toward Journeyman Electrician status.
- Must be able to work outdoors year‑round in various weather conditions typical to Arizona (heat, cold, dust, wind).
- Ability to climb ladders, scaffolds, and structures, and work at heights exceeding 30 feet.
- Must be able to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds regularly and occasionally heavier with assistance.
- Requires manual dexterity to handle tools, materials, and electrical components.
- Must be able to stand, walk, kneel, crouch, or walk for extended periods.
- Must follow all company safety policies and OSHA regulations without exception.
- Required to wear PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) as dictated by site safety requirements (hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, boots, high‑visibility clothing, etc.).
- Responsible for maintaining a safe work environment for all crew members.
- Must communicate effectively (verbal and written) with team members, supervisors, and clients.
- Expected to model professionalism, teamwork, and integrity at all times.
- Must adhere to company policies, including attendance, conduct, and ethics standards.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to Apprentice I, Apprentice II, Apprentice III and helpers, while reinforcing safe and efficient work standards.
