CDL - Rigger

Job Summary

The PLR CDL/Rigger supports the crane operators on job tasks before, during, and following the operation of the crane. Provides rigging operation and hand signals to ensure safe lifting of the load.

• Operate within DOT laws and regulations.
• Represent the company professionally.
• Assist the crane operator in the maintenance of the crane and accessory equipment (i.e., pickup trucks, haul trucks, trailers, etc.).
• Assist the crane operator in the proper set‑up/tear‑down of the equipment.
• Inspect truck and trailer and fill out truck inspection report before operating the vehicle and turn in the report to the proper supervisor.
• Report mechanical defects in writing on the truck and/or trailers to the shop technician or a supervisor.
• Monitor inventory of the chains, boomers, and straps assigned to the truck and report missing equipment to the supervisor.
• Inspect, clean, and perform maintenance on chains, boomers, and straps.
• Monitor the annual state inspection and state license plates and report to the supervisor one month in advance before the expiration date.
• Assemble and install supporting structures, rigging, hoist, and pulling gear.
• Connect pulley and blocks to fixed overhead structures with bolts, shackles, and clamps.
• Clean and dress machines and surfaces of parts.
• Control movements of heavy equipment through narrow openings or confined spaces.
• Dismantle, maintain, and store rigging equipment.
• Manipulate rigging lines, hoist to move or support materials, steel, and concrete.
• Select gears, cables, and shackles according to load size, facilities, and work schedule.
• Signal or give direction to workers engaged in hoisting and moving loads to ensure the safety of workers and materials.
• Inspect rigging to ensure safety and reliability before engaging in hoisting and lifting.
• Complete Pro Lift Specific, Regulatory and Identified Equipment training through our internal LMS system.
• Complete 3rd party and customer‑required training to gain on‑site access as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Clean MVR required.
• General crane knowledge.
• Excellent mechanical reasoning.
• Good perception of math applications, weights, measurement, and balance.
• Must be flexible with schedule, able to travel, and able to work overtime.
• Must be able to lift 75 lbs.
• Rigging experience required.
• Knowledge of crane hand signals required.
• Flexibility to travel is a must, which may include weekends and overnight stays.
• Communication skills.
• Reasoning ability.
• HS diploma or equivalent required.
• Must pass a drug test and background check.

• CDL – Class A required.
• OSHA 10‑preferred.
• NCCCO Rigger – a plus.
