In This Role You Will
- Assist in the completion of make‑ready units to Mark‑Taylor standards and maintain an adequate supply of make‑ready units for the Community.
- Troubleshoot, diagnose and correct minor air conditioning and/or heating failures, appliance repairs, electrical problems, plumbing problems, minor carpentry, and drywall repairs.
- Perform necessary repairs and preventative maintenance on vacant units as they become available.
- Perform daily pool care, ensuring the pool is in proper chemical balance and the area is free of safety concerns.
- Complete minor roof repairs, re‑key locks, and cut keys.
- Inspect the property for safety hazards that may pose a liability and correct the hazard, informing the Manager of Facilities and Service of the issue.
- Share on‑call duty with the Manager of Facilities and Service, and service team members, and remain readily available to go to the property if needed, in uniform and with a badge.
- Assist in monitoring inventory of parts and cleaning supplies.
- Train and mentor other Service Technicians and Facilities Technicians.
- Advanced knowledge in the following areas:
Plumbing, Electrical, Pool Maintenance, HVAC, Carpentry, Landscape Maintenance, Appliances, and OSHA‑related standards. - One or more industry‑specific professional certifications (EPA, HVAC, CPO, or similar).
- Service orientation.
- Basic computer skills.
- Two or more years of experience working as an apartment turn technician, maintenance technician, make‑ready technician, or work‑order technician is highly desirable.
- A basic understanding of written and verbal English.
- The anticipated base pay range for this position is $26.00/hour.
- All service team members who participate in the on‑call rotation receive an additional $3.00/hour incentive for all hours worked while on‑call.
