Service Technician

Job Description:

Our team is currently looking for a Service Technician to keep up with our level of demand. This role is for our Phoenix, AZ location and focuses on working on Street sweepers, Vacs, and Refuse trucks. The primary duty is to provide warranty support and repair to independent haulers on site.

Hourly Pay Rate: $25.00 - $38.00+ (Based on experience)

• Lay out, position, and secure parts and assemblies according to specifications, automotive and Class 8 truck chassis hydraulic schematic and pressure evaluation.
• Maintain vehicle functional condition by listening to operator complaints, conducting inspections, repairing engine failures, repairing mechanical and electrical system malfunctions, replacing parts and components, and repairing body damage.
• Verify vehicle serviceability by conducting test drives and adjusting controls and systems.
• Comply with state vehicle requirements by testing engine, safety, and combustion control standards.
• Maintain vehicle appearance by cleaning, washing, and painting.
• Maintain vehicle records by recording service and repairs.
• Keep shop equipment operating by following operating instructions, troubleshooting breakdowns, maintaining supplies, performing preventive maintenance, and calling for repairs.
• Calculate costs using warranties, evaluating service and parts options.
• Increase job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities and reading technical publications.
• Lift 50+ lbs, bend, stoop, kneel, and climb ladders.
• Work closely with co‑workers or other team members, demonstrating integrity in work.

• Minimum 3+ years truck mechanic experience.
• Minimum 3+ years electrical experience.
• Ability to read and repair hydraulic systems along with electrical schematics and diagnose circuitry connections.
• Welding experience preferred but not required.
• Knowledge of waste collection equipment is a large plus.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs or more, bend, stoop, kneel, and climb ladders.
