The Building Engineer is responsible for the operation, maintenance, and repair of building systems, equipment, and infrastructure. This role supports day‑to‑day facility operations, ensures system reliability, and maintains compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities- Operate, maintain, and repair HVAC systems, boilers, chillers, air compressors, and related equipment.
- Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on facility systems.
- Troubleshoot electrical, plumbing, and general building systems.
- Maintain pumps, valves, piping, and distribution systems.
- Monitor building automation systems (BMS).
- Perform preventative maintenance programs.
- Respond to alarms and emergency situations.
- Maintain maintenance logs and documentation.
- Oversee contractors and vendors.
- Support cleanroom environments where applicable.
- Ensure OSHA and safety compliance.
- Maintain life safety systems.
- Perform general maintenance tasks (carpentry, painting, repairs).
- Adjust systems for seasonal efficiency.
- Support continuous improvement efforts.
- High school diploma required; trade certification preferred.
- 3–5+ years in facilities or building maintenance.
- HVAC and mechanical systems experience required.
- Strong HVAC and building systems knowledge.
- Basic electrical and control systems knowledge.
- Ability to read schematics and drawings.
- Strong troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to work independently.
- Ability to lift and work in mechanical spaces.
- On‑call availability required.
- PPE required.
