Maintenance Engineer II; Rooms Preventative - Arizona Biltmore

Position

Maintenance Engineer II – Room Preventative Maintenance – Arizona Biltmore, Phoenix, AZ.

• Perform maintenance tasks in guest suites, public areas, outlets, and back‑of‑house areas as required.
• Respond to guest calls and complete written assignment sheets provided by Supervisors.
• Visually inspect and detect items needing repair.
• Maintain knowledge of a wide variety of maintenance trades.
• Appropriately respond to any fire or other emergency procedure and ensure compliance with OSHA and EPA regulations.
• Schedule workload effectively and maintain detailed logs and inspection sheets.
• Perform routine repair and maintenance of guest rooms and equipment requested by guests.
• Assess, troubleshoot, and take appropriate action for HVAC, refrigeration, plumbing, and electrical systems.
• Perform basic plumbing soldering, pipe‑fitting selection, low‑voltage control‑circuit troubleshooting, and HVAC component replacement.
• Perform basic carpentry work, troubleshooting testing procedures, and use of schematics, electrical, and manual hand tools.

• Maintain inventory of supplies needed to perform job functions.
• Report major repairs and unrepairable items to Supervisors; place suites out of order when necessary.
• Other duties and special projects such as waterproofing, shop cleanup, and hazardous‑materials labeling as assigned.

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Training or apprenticeship in mechanics, carpentry, HVAC, refrigeration, and/or electrical (preferred).
• Basic experience in maintenance trades including electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and carpentry.
• Prior customer service experience.
• At least one year experience in a hotel or resort setting (preferred).

• Certification in mechanics, carpentry, HVAC, refrigeration, and/or electrical (preferred).
• Valid Arizona Driver’s License (preferred).
• CPR / First Aid Certified (preferred).
• CPO Certification (preferred).
